Looking For a Great Piano Teacher?

Then Simply Join Us Now!

Hello, my name is Jonnie Harrison and, almost 15 years ago I started Dynamic Piano Lessons. In that time my piano teaching colleagues and I have taught hundreds of students of all ages and abilities to successfully play the piano. You can read more about me here if you want to, but why not read on and find out how we can help you or your child to play the piano?

At Dynamic Piano Lessons we believe that you can start to learn the piano at any age, and that the most important factor is motivation. We tailor our lessons to the interests of students, while at the same time encouraging them to face challenges and develop their strengths

We have students who are mainly interested in learning to play the piano because they would like to accompany themselves when singing, or for composing their own songs.

Others want to develop their jazz improvisational skills or learn to play classical or popular music. A typical lesson might include time spent looking at technique, music theory and harmony, rhythm, and sight-reading skills. The team is also confident teaching students with dyslexia

For those wishing to go through the ABRSM grade system, we are experienced in preparing students for these exams.

During lessons we often recommend books and resources to work from for practicing at home.

We are aware that many people feel daunted by the prospect of learning an instrument, particularly if they have little or no musical experience. Sometimes in a lesson we might work on piano chords and songs that are current.

We can also provide sheet music for students wishing to learn specific songs. Our teaching team are sensitive to the individual needs of each student, and lessons are appropriately challenging as well as enjoyable and rewarding.

Our fees are extremely competitive:

Lessons can be taught at The Chiswick Catholic Centre, at your home and even online. The prices range between £30 – £50 depending on the session.

The team are fully insured, DBS checked and adhere to the Musicians’ Union policy which you can view on the following link Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy.

"I have loved Dynamic Piano - I have two children (aged 7 and 8 now) and they have been doing lessons for over a year. The teachers we have had have been inspiring, fun and talented in their teaching abilities. The kids love it (and even willingly practice as a result). During lock-down the use of technology (to do remote lessons) has been inspiring - I genuinely never thought it could work so well, and has provided a nice bit of normalcy in these odd times. I am thankful for this ingenuity and commitment to the lessons! Cannot recommend highly enough!”

"My 4 year old is really enjoying the lessons, she is making a fantastic progress with Laura. She developed a great relationship with her and that is a source of motivation to get her practicing. She is really taking it as a fun activity. Since the lessons became video lessons, my daughter loves the new format too. She is really excited when the lesson start through Zoom!”

"Thomas and I are very delighted to find you just in time when Thomas was about one to two months left for the Grade I exam. I was so worried that he was not well prepared since he only has half an hour piano lesson time at school. Lara was very good teacher and helped Thomas a lot for his skills, exam tips and piano pieces practicing. Thomas got merit for Grade 1 last May and distinction for Grade 2 last November. And he is ready for Grade 3 this May. Thanks Lara and you very much!”

"My experience with Dynamic piano lessons and my teacher Ruth was wonderful. The lessons were really enjoyable as well as helping me improve my playing. Having lessons at Arts Ed was great as it's really easy to get to and the facilities we used are really good quality. I improved greatly over a short amount of time thanks to Ruth and would definitely recommend! !”

"Jonnie has been working with our 6-year-old daughter for nearly a year. Our daughter, who is normally quite soft-spoken, has blossomed into a confident and enthusiastic little pianist and we are very grateful to Jonnie for teaching her the art of self-expression through music. Jonnie is extremely patient and kind and this makes our daughter eager to learn more. He also often rewards our daughter at the end of each lesson with a bit of singing time–songs of her choice–which she absolutely loves."

"Jonnie came to my house to start up some Jazz lessons last year. Being a complete beginner I was impressed with his approach, he always gave me the time to get through the piece and his tips for practicing were really helpful. Jonnie has introduced me to some technique exercises for the hands which has been really useful – my playing has certainly become more legato since starting up the lessons."
